Katz served as writer and Executive Producer on the Amazon Original series ZeroZeroZero (Amazon, Sky, Canal +) which he co-created with Leonardo Fasoli and director Stefano Sollima.Ĭurrently, Katz is adapting the beloved novel by Roberto Bolaño, The Savage Detectives for HBO, which will be the network’s first Spanish language dramatic television show.The search for a missing poet is the nominal subject of the late (1953–2003) expatriate Chilean author’s blazingly original 1998 masterpiece. In 2013 Katz moved to Los Angeles, where he’s worked on various Televisions shows such as The Bridge (FX) and most recently served as writer and co-executive producer on Maniac (Netflix) directed by Cary Fukunaga. Katz has developed television series for HBO, FX, STARZ and has had the opportunity to develop with Martin Scorsese & Benicio Del Toro.

That same year he co-wrote and acted as co-showrunner of the series Niño Santo (which has recently been remade by Netflix). In 2010 he wrote the film Miss Bala which premiered in the Un Certain Regard section of the Cannes Film Festival (and has recently been remade by Sony Pictures).
